Your guide to Fish, Feathers & Fun in Flambeau Country!

Canoeing

I have lived “IN” the South Fork Flambeau River my entire life. Let me show you some of its beauty and secrets. Or if the North Fork is more to your liking, whether canoeing or fishing, let’s set up a trip you’ll remember for a long long time. The rivers are famous for their Small Mouth Bass and Muskies. You’ve never had a challenge until you’ve landed a 19” Smallmouth Bass or a 40” + Musky while wading. Talk about up close and personal!!!

Whether it’s a family float or a hard core fishing trip, I’ll make sure you get the kind of trip you want. We can “float” a section of river in 3 or 4 hours, or the same section can be an all day “fishing trip” of 8-10 hours. It’s up to you and your party as to what kind of day you want. My focus is entertainment and education. New to canoeing-no problem! Youngsters-we’ll make the trip enjoyable for them (AND thus for you too).

If flat calm water is to your liking, we can find stretches you’ll like. If you want just a little thrill- no problem! We do insist on your being “Guided” on the river anytime the river is very high or near flood stage-for an additional fee.

River float trips are available generally from May 1st through Oct. 5th.
Thee most popular dates (Book early!) being when it’s HOT June 20th-Aug. 25th

You’ll need to bring:

River wading shoes: Please no flip flops. These shoes are for foot protection from rocks. Could be an old pair of tennis shoes/running shoes

Clothing appropriate for that days weather “Zip-off pants” (are a great item to wear –they cover a lot of areas), jacket, long sleeve cover up shirt, hat, swimming suit,

Sunglasses/Sunscreen

Rain Gear or disposable poncho

Cooler - beverages-(more than you think), snacks, treats for the kids

Dry Bag(s)-a super size “Zip-lock” type bag will work for most needs-available at mass merchandisers every where

Fishing gear - you’ll want light spinning gear. Check with us before you come, for recommended types of artificial lures. Oh, and don’t forget your fishing license!

Camera-we recommend disposable cameras for river trips
